ABSTRACT

Pronouns are words that indicate, single out and differentiate things, phenomena, characteristics and persons. Pronouns are not numerous, but they are used rather frequently. Depending on their meaning and the use in a sentence, pronouns are grouped into noun-like (a), which indicate things and can substitute a noun, and adjective-like (b), which usually indicate characteristics. The majority of pronouns have categories of gender, number and case; however, the groups present different features (for declension see Table 3.1).
