ABSTRACT

This chapter examines power for tests of zero-order Pearson correlations and for tests of differences involving either independent (different samples) or dependent correlations (same sample). Approaches to comparing correlations are not widely presented in the behavioral sciences literature (i.e., these techniques do not appear in most statistics textbooks) so sections on those topics provide details on testing hypotheses and performing calculations as well as conducting power analysis. For each analysis, the chapter presents examples using R functions from the pwr2ppl package.
