ABSTRACT

Students learn to: Summarize the argument for applying conventional ethics of armed conflict to cyberspace and the argument against doing so; Define major military concepts – including deterrence, active defense, and balance of power that have been applied to cyberspace; Point to emerging ethical issues in conflict in cyberspace, including issues related to agency, autonomy and responsibility; Distinguish between cyberconflict and cyberespionage and describe ethical issues related to both, as well as those reserved for one type of actions only
