ABSTRACT
This chapter talks about Alex Apple, reporter/anchor at WCAX-TV, Burlington, Vermont. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee and graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in journalism. He covered college athletics for Fox Sports and Yahoo, wrote for the Dallas Morning News and freelanced for POLITICO. Fast-forward a decade and he is a senior at Texas Christian University about to graduate early with a degree in journalism and political science. He had the good fortune during his time as a student of getting to write sports for Fox Sports and Yahoo as well as the Dallas Morning News. Undeterred by that fact, he leapt into the professional journalism world and moved to a part of the country that was totally unfamiliar to him. He learned more in his first six months working at WCAX than he had in four years in school.
