ABSTRACT
While the Fukushima nuclear disaster in March 2011 is generally seen as the consequence of a rare natural disaster (a 9.0 magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami), a parliamentary report in June 2012 concluded that the accident was manmade in more ways than one, both in the lead up to the accident and the aftermath.
