ABSTRACT
This chapter provides activities designed to assist with the development of strategies to promote classroom engagement and evidence-based teaching and learning. Adult learners and learners with varying learning styles require varied teaching strategies. Counselor educators must become familiar with evidence based and creative ways to engage the diverse learners they will teach. The chapter presents the case studies and process questions focused on a mix of teaching strategies; guided questions to help integrate best practices in teaching and creativity for learning and a collection of exercises to use in the classroom to promote engagement. It offers counselor educators many opportunities to consider what best practices in teaching are and how to creatively help students learn. The carousel activity is an interactive group activity that promotes movement and discussion among students. In the carousel activity, students are divided into groups.
