Description Must be highly skilled in numeracy and literacy. Must have good working knowledge of cross-curricular subjects, including a high level of competency with ICT. An excellent communicator, the successful candidate will be able to liaise with both adults and young people on a day-to-day basis. Good team-work skills are essential, as is the ability to connect and respond to specialists and experts on a range of issues. Applicants will need to appreciate complex elements of psychology related to learning, behaviour and social sub-texts. They should have awareness of First Aid and be able to respond to the medical needs of those in their charge. The post demands sufficient strength of character to enable them to control and direct large groups. They must display sensitivity and empathy towards those who struggle, and also rise to the challenge of stretching and nurturing the abilities of the very gifted. High-order strategies for time management and personal motivation are essential, and it is assumed applicants will be able to work evenings and weekends. Applicants must be punctual, reliable, honest and fair-minded. Flexibility is expected to be a key component in both their approaches and responses. Oh, and they also need to be creative.
