ABSTRACT
Chapter 7 describes approaches used by school counselors to engage in collaboration and consultation with stakeholders in order to provide students with a comprehensive school counseling program. Circumstances under which school counselors would generally engage in consultation and collaboration are examined along with the processes for both collaboration and consultation. The stages and phases of consultation are examined. Teambuilding strategies and school and community partnerships are explored. The positive outcomes of peer-to-peer helping programs are highlighted. The use of referral is discussed in relation to scope of practice.
