ABSTRACT

For successful implementation of the trajectory-based SLO process certain policy and infrastructure considerations need to be in place. Policy decisions for an administrator to consider include whether the trajectories and tasks should be developed by an individual teacher or a team of teachers. Similarly, a policy decision must be made about whether the placement of student work on the learning trajectory should be determined individually or in a content area group. Finally the administrator will need to determine if the SLO growth target is reasonable and attainable. Administrators will need to identify the key focal points for beginning, middle, and end of year SLO conferences.
