ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book suggests a range of strategies to lead and manage change successfully to support you rather than take the 'one-model-fits-all' approach. It addresses three key areas: firstly, how educational change can pose challenges for leaders; secondly, the implications of change management for leaders; thirdly, some suggested key ways forward for leaders to consider. High-quality teaching and learning and high standards of achievement are sought by every leader in education. The White Paper emphasises that leaders need to have a clear vision for improvement, and this vision needs to be promoted as part of a setting's policy of having excellent teachers and leaders to help raise standards. This means that leaders need to be creative, entrepreneurial, moral, ethical and compassionate to support changes and associated challenges.
