ABSTRACT
Writing the script is only part of the story. Once the shots and sound have been collected they have to be edited. This is how the grammar of television news is applied. The report may also need library pictures, archive or graphics. Editing is usually done in conjunction with the scriptwriting. Some journalists prefer to write words to pictures, others match pictures to words. But in practice, the process often takes place simultaneously.
