ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book focuses upon developments in the challenging area of tackling sexual violence at universities in the UK. The role of activists in the National Union of Students has undoubtedly been key in keeping tackling sexual violence against women firmly on the agenda at universities across the UK. The book argues that the NHS England strategic priorities provide a useful framework of focus for university communities. It draws on the UK includes coverage of some of the key documents and reports that have contributed to both raising the profile of the prevalence of sexual violence and also addressing it. The book examines some of the Canadian legislative frameworks that set the context for some of the policies and practices at the universities, which includes data requirements too.
