ABSTRACT
Local authorities have extensive powers under the provisions of the Building Act 1984 to ensure that building work covered by the Building Regulations does in fact comply with those regulations. As has been explained in Chapter 5, these enforcement powers even extend to work being supervised by an Approved Inspector, under certain conditions.
