Mix design and mixing

In modern construction, the person who designs the floor is rarely the person who designs the concrete mix. Most concrete comes from readymix companies, who hire specialists to design their mixes. Nevertheless, floor designers - and builders, too - need to know something about the subject so they can ask the right questions and comment intelligently on mix designs prepared by others.
