ABSTRACT
Shutter lag is the length of time from when you press the shutter release button until the camera actually takes the photograph. There is a combination of two processes at work:
1. Auto focus lag. When you press the shutter button, the camera attempts to search for an appropriate focus point. This auto focus mechanism is often very slow, and causes most of the delay.
