ABSTRACT

The LCD is a tremendous source of feedback for the underwater photographer and, from a technical point of view, it works in the same way as a Polaroid print did some years ago.

Digital cameras are better than Polaroids because not only are they far superior in quality but also you can also see everything more quickly, including composition, colour and exposure. In the Polaroid era, it was unusual for outdoor photographers to take a Polaroid snapshot in the field. If ever they did, it was always as a test for the real thing and not the real thing itself. The advantages of the LCD review to the underwater photographer are enormous.
