ABSTRACT

Examples of problems are provided, and go something like this:

Take heart. You are not alone. The reason for your frustration may have something to do with the feature Approach, which I define as:

You are diving along a reef with your camera when you spot a creature that you would like to shoot. It could be a fish in the corals, a moray, a scorpion fish. In fact, anything that could potentially disappear is relevant to the technique of approach. You approach, aim the camera, and ‘pop’ you have the subject on film – or do you? The crucial moments are those between the brain and eye seeing the subject, and making the assessment to shoot it and your finger pressing the shutter. It is within this period of time that the decisions are made, and this is crucial to achieving success.
