Preliminary estimates of visitation during 2003 indicate a return to 2000 levels with a potential 4% increase in international tourist arrivals to the Republic of Ireland to take visitor levels to in excess of six million. Total receipts (domestic and international) are expected to increase by 5%. Arrivals from North America were estimated to be up 6% and from Continental Europe up 8%. The visitation levels up to 2002 are presented in the following Table 8.2.
