ABSTRACT
The tags in this HTML example are used in pairs. The open tag, <center>, and the close tag, </center>. The formatting of all the text between pairs of tags is determined by the tag type.
Like HTML, XML also makes use of tags to specify properties of text data. But with XML, there is no predetermined set of tags. The tags needed for a particular application are defined and the interpreted according to the needs of the application.
