ABSTRACT

There are many ways to skin a rabbit. Writing is no different, and authors adopt a wide range of techniques, procedures and tricks in order to produce and structure their material. The advice in this chapter therefore should not be taken as a set of rules that you should follow exactly. That said, much of what is contained here summarises much of what might be considered to be the ‘best practice’ in dissertation writing. As with the other chapters in this book, if you follow the procedures outlined here then you should be able to produce work of a high standard.
