The nature of infrastructure projects
Infrastructure services are central to household, community and economic activities and they are important to improve public services, facilitate human development, economic growth and productivity in industry. This is reflected in the efforts of governments throughout the world to continuously increase investment. As countries aspire to higher levels of socioeconomic and human development, the need to meet the increasing demand for infrastructure has become critical. The growing demand is due to changes in household activities, community and social changes such as work-homeleisure patterns, industrial needs and increased global interactions between countries. Failure to respond to demand will cause bottlenecks to economic growth and stifle human development.
