ABSTRACT
In a typical case there will be a knock on the door, the householder will be advised that the man on the doorstep is a roofer working in the area who has seen serious problems with the chimney, flashings or whatever. Before the occupier has time to think men will be on the roof apparently doing something and a short time later there will be another knock on the door demanding payment, typically in cash. Elderly victims will be marched down to the bank to draw out their savings.
