ABSTRACT

Engaging the participation and commitment of different management groups is also a critical component of building internal capability and support for the return on investment (ROI) process. This chapter outlines approaches for creating shared ownership for ROI process implementation in both the short and long haul. In environments where training has become decentralized and distributed more and more to line managers, it's even more important to provide internal staff members with consistent education and training on each step of the ROI process. Because internal WLP staff are typically responsible for assessing stakeholder needs and gaps and engaging stakeholders in all aspects of ROI process implementation (coordination, execution, and logistics), they need proper training and resources to step up to these expanded roles and responsibilities. The chapter identifies the role of management in successful implementation of the ROI process.
