What is a sport cartel? Many professional sport leagues (especially those in the USA and Australia) operate as a joint venture or cartel. A cartel is a collective of firms who by agreement, act as a single supplier to a market, and in doing so, pursues a number of joint policies. As a result, cartels are able to minimize competition, restrict the entry of new firms, control the supply and cost of their products,
compliance, cartels will normally impose sanctions and penalties for the violation of its rules and regulations.
