Managing and Measuring Human Capital
Author: ‘Chapters 2 to 5 of this book have focused on building an understanding of human capital management rather than measurement, but we do also need a way of measuring human capital and HCM as part of an effective approach to management. I presented options for the financial valuation of human capital in Chapter 4 and concluded that organizations should financially value their success, not their people. I also explained why scorecards provide a sound basis for the valuation of human capital and evaluation of HCM. This chapter picks up on the use of scorecards and provides a framework to support the management and measurement of HCM strategy.
