Reader: ‘I’m almost surprised that you’ve set aside a whole chapter for measurement given what you’ve said before.’
Author: ‘I certainly argue that creating value in HCM is more important than measuring the value that is created. However, this doesn’t mean that measurement is unimportant. Measurement needs to be part of any effective approach to management. But, I propose an approach to measurement that’s very different from most of what is written elsewhere. A lot of what I read seems to suggest that people and people management should be measured almost for the sake of measuring them.
