Reader: ‘Can benchmarking really be used as part of a strategic approach to HCM? I’ve always thought that benchmarking is about weaker companies understanding and catching up with their stronger competitors. It’s difficult to see how benchmarking would provide a company with competitive advantage as by the time the company has adapted and applied its learning, its competitors will have already moved on to something else.’
