ABSTRACT
In this chapter we will examine the behaviour of the sound in a room with particular reference to how the room’s characteristics affect the quality of the perceived sound. We will also examine strategies for analysing and improving the acoustic quality of a room. Finally we will look at how we hear sound direction and consider how this affects the design of listening rooms, studios and control rooms to give good stereo listening environments.
