Today’s brides have a wealth of options when it comes to selecting
the perfect wedding gown. There are many more fabric choices today
than there were even 20 years ago. Materials such as polyester, nylon,
rayon, and silk can be woven into a range of stunning fabrics such as
brocade, charmeuse, chiffon, crepe back satin, duchesse satin, dupioni,
georgette, lace, organza, shantung, taffeta, and velvet. Synthetic
materials such as nylon and polyester are more versatile and afforda-
ble than pure silk fi bers, giving designers more fabric selection than
ever, translating into more choices for the bride.
