ABSTRACT

This chapter reexamines leadership and performance in the context of the global marketplace and the need for cross-cultural skills. Effective performance in an international workplace is advanced through strategic alliances, innovation, and entrepreneurial culture, as well as mentoring and coaching. An analysis of how to advance individual and organizational performance, especially among knowledge workers, follows. Also considered are ethical behavior in a global contract and performance in terms of global change, technology transfer, and in/outsourcing within today’s knowledge culture. Global Performance Challenges consider these three quotations.
