This is yet another growth area with whole networks dedicated to younger audiences. A number of broadcasting students I have taught have revealed the desire to become a presenter on a wonderfully chaotic Saturday morning youth TV show or on Top of the Pops. But beware! To the uninitiated, it may seem that presenting for a children’s audience is a good place to start before graduating to the high-energy, peak-time viewing, pop slots. However, you will be amazed at the demands placed upon you and the potential career problems you will encounter.
