Job stability and employee outcomes

Introduction In the previous chapter we considered work by labour economists on previous flexible employment relationships and on the types of jobs currently in existence, through a review of non-traditional jobs and the reasons for their growth. We continue our exploration of the end-of-jobs and job insecurity theses in this chapter by looking at work by employment strategists that considers the stability of jobs, through analyses of job or employment tenure and separation rates, and work by HRM academics on historical levels of job satisfaction.
