Different sources of liability 1.02 An architect may be liable to his client for breach of contract, through the tort of negligence or under statute. He may also be liable to those with whom he has no contract, ‘third parties’, through the tort of negligence or under statute. This chapter examines the basic principles of each of these types of liability.
