Licensing and Copyrights

What is a work? Well, for our purposes we’re talking about intellectual (from the mind) creations: music, art, writing, speech, designs, drawings, and so forth. Under the laws of many countries, a creator automatically owns specific rights to the products of their intellect: their intellectual property. Intellectual property rights can be sold and transferred to a corporation or another person, but until they are, the creator is the copyright holder and thus the only one with the right to copy the work.
