Podcasting and Video Blogging Basics
Weblogs, or blogs, have grown from a convenient web-page updating tool to a vast cultural phenomenon. There isn’t an old-media outlet-newspapers, television, magazines, you name it-that hasn’t come up with some sort of “blogging strategy” in response to their popularity. Blogs have become part of the social fabric, much as web pages did in the 1990s.
Blogs are fundamentally a means of communication, a modern twist on an ancient format, the diary. Similarly, the proliferation of simple, portable, ubiquitous tools for recording speech and filming everyday events has created new forms beyond still photography. It is therefore not surprising that the sounds and moving pictures so effortlessly captured on handheld devices have combined with the one-to-many medium of the web-based journal.
