What to do once the QMS is established
In the past, many companies who attained ISO 9001 certification did not seek to improve their QMS. After the initial enthusiasm of attaining the award, a degree of apathy set in and bad habits re-emerged. It was possible to ignore the QMS until the next assessment was due. This in turn resulted in a decline in standards between assessments and a knee-jerk reaction and subsequent panic was then required to bring the system back up to an acceptable level.
