Communicating using engineering drawings
The most effective way of communicating the size, shape and details of a single component or an assembly is to produce an accurate drawing of the required item. Draughtsmen produce drawings, and after being checked and approved they are copied and distributed. They are used for the costing, planning, manufacture, maintenance, marketing and sales. All the features of a component should be clearly shown on a drawing so that the drawing can be ‘read’ by any engineer worldwide.
