Milling is the machining process generally selected for producing rectangular and angular workpieces with plane flat surfaces. Drilled and bored holes can also be accurately positioned with a milling machine. Milling involves feeding a securely held workpiece past a revolving multitooth cutting tool called a milling cutter.
