To sum up, we have learned about the major components of radio and television studios and transmitter sites, their place in the end-to-end broadcast chain, and how the equipment and systems work together to produce the broadcast signal. We have also learned about the basic principles and standards on which broadcasting is based and something of the role of the FCC in regulating the industry in the United States. We have seen that AM, FM, and TV broadcast facilities have many things in common, but that there are some major differences, particularly in the world of digital broadcasting.
