Midi þ Audio Sequencers

Musicians working with MIDI will often choose to use a full-featured MIDI þ Audio sequencer as the ‘front-end’ for their Pro Tools hardware – in preference to the Pro Tools software.

Although Pro Tools has reasonable MIDI features, these are no match for the MIDI features

in a dedicated MIDI sequencer. For example, Pro Tools does not display MIDI data as conven-

tional music notation – a feature that many composers and musicians find indispensable. There

are also various other software packages that creative musicians, composers, producers and

remixers often like to use when working with MIDI or with audio loops.
