The Value of Project Management

As you have seen, project management is a thinking process. It is an organized method to achieve change. It is not as simple as mechanistic views of GANTT, PERT, and critical path methods. Project management applies organization and structure to accomplish the work. Dealing with issues, conflicts, and opportunities is a major project management activity. It is not a question of whether to use project management, but instead to select and use the best methods, techniques, and tools. Selecting these correctly, maintaining flexibility, and using lessons learned are some of the key concepts in the book.
