Theword ‘professional’ is thrown around freely nowadays and it seems to have lostmuch of itsmeaning somewhere along the way. To me it means someone that’s doing a full-time paid job or, more speciﬁcally, with regard to equipment, something that’s capable of performing to a standard that is acceptable to a professional person in a professional environment. As an example, a cheap plastic microphone that costs less than a jar of coffee isn’t what I’d call professional. A tried and tested roadworthy model used by many artists is.
