ABSTRACT
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is now used by many companies to speed up and control the exchange of business documents required when goods are bought and sold. Originally requiring specialist hardware and software, it was very expensive to run, but EDI is now available much more cheaply using the resources of the Internet.
