ABSTRACT

The purpose of this part of the book is to examine the various dimensions of individual behaviour at work which can enable a manager to subsequently deploy and use those human resources to best effect. What cannot be understood cannot be used effectively. The overarching aim is therefore, to remedy any defects in that understanding. For that reason (and for the purpose of passing exams and assignments too) there is a great deal of discussion here about how various theories and concepts can be practically applied in the workplace.
