ABSTRACT

As with all the other functional strategies (marketing, operations, personnel, etc.) which are now developed by most companies as essential aspects of their strategic management process, a company’s financial strategy must be tailored to the needs of the overall corporate and competitive strategies which are being implemented by the business. If the financial strategy is appropriately designed and properly implemented it can enhance shareholder value but, even more dramatically, when an inappropriate financial strategy is applied the entire business can be placed in jeopardy.
