ABSTRACT

Portraying natural light in an outdoor environment is muchmore difficult than it is in an indoor scene. Light that enters such a space, through windows and other openings is relatively easy to control, but the fact that sunlight is such a bright source makes this type of light a sizable challenge when a shot is set outside. This is understood by photographers, who have to employ bounce cards, diffusing silk sheets and even extra lighting in order to break down its harsh light and soften its hard shadows. However, the same natural light at a different time of day, or in different conditions, can be poetic in its beauty.
