ABSTRACT

As the name suggests, post production is the final stage of theproduction process and involves further work on the various elements of a shot: live-action footage, CG content, audio and so on. During this phase, there may be further color correction, blurring or sharpening of the CG elements in order to make them better match the backplate. Similarly, grain may be added to these elements in order to bed them into the shot. The addition of effects like lens flares and particle systems can also happen in post. Though final audio work and editing fall under the umbrella of post production, the main component of this process that concerns us is compositing.
