ABSTRACT

The Implement phase (Figure 20.1) is the phase where all the designed and developed process improvements will actually be ‘brought to life’. It is also the phase where many of the people change management activities come together. Although this is one of the last parts of the framework and project cycle, it needs to be considered at the very start of each project and as early as the Launch pad phase, for it is at the start of the project that the decision should be made regarding how the project will be implemented within the business (see Chapter 15 for details). The implementation decision will impact upon many facets of the project – areas such as how processes are designed or redesigned, how development and testing may be conducted, and so forth. The decision will be continually reviewed during the life of the project, recognizing that the method of implementation may change.
