ABSTRACT

Electronic flash units produce a large amount of light from a compact unit that can be attached to the camera or can be part of the camera itself, as on the Hasselblad H camera model. The duration of the flash is short, usually shorter than the shutter speed, and it therefore freezes action and helps to eliminate blurred images due to camera movement. The color temperature of electronic flash matches that of normal daylight, and the two can therefore be combined in color photography. The discussion in this book is limited to location flash photography.
