New tools for journalists
This chapter looks at more technology available to information-age journalists. It considers ﬁrst the NewsGear suite of tools that Ifra’s Kerry Northrup believes are most appropriate for reporters. The chapter discusses reﬁned forms of information management such as computer-assisted reporting and geographical information systems, and then explores how databases are changing the way that news organizations operate.
